ClamWin is a free antivirus tool that is supported on Windows operating system to scan the system for any virus or malware intrusions. The stable version of the tool was first released in the year 2015. The tool supports a graphical user interface (GUI) for enabling scanning schedule, automatically updating the virus database, integrating with various browsers, and scanning the email server for any virus or malware intrusions. The tool can be integrated with MS Windows Explorer and MS Outlook.
The ClamWin tool is integrated with a Clam antivirus engine and adapts the features provided by this antivirus engine. The antivirus engine is a multi-threaded scanner and supports on demand file scanning for various types of file formats and provides protection for mail servers from Phishing and malware intrusions.
The virus database of the tool gets updated automatically at a very fast rate and allows the users to capture as many intrusions as possible. Also, the tool supports on-demand scanning on various types of mail formats, executable files, and portable executable files. Further, the tool can be used to display reports of the intrusions for manual cleaning of the files by deleting the suspected files and by quarantining the unwanted or harmful files.
